EMODnet Physics DB of the ARGO. Argo is a global array of 3,800 free-drifting profiling floats that measures the temperature and salinity of the upper 2000 m of the ocean. This allows, for the first time, continuous monitoring of the temperature, salinity, and velocity of the upper ocean, with all data being relayed and made publicly available within hours after collection (http://www.argo.ucsd.edu/)

EMODnet Physics DB of the profiling platforms. Global collection. The broad-scale global array of temperature/salinity profiling floats, known as Argo, has already grown to be a major component of the ocean observing system. An ARGO measures the temperature and salinity of the upper 2000 m of the ocean. the BioARGO program is also collecting BGC data.

EMODnet Physics DB of the FerryBox systems. Global collection. A FerryBox system consists of a water inlet from which seawater is pumped into the measuring circuit containing multiple sensors. This inlet may be positioned at the sea-chest or through the hull of the ship, using a valve especially designed for the FerryBox purposes.
